to New York with a Pakistani family heritage, co-founders and sisters
Saifra and Romaana Zia have always been inspired by their mothers

The women often watched their father, a textile engineer with discerning
taste, return from business trips with unique pieces for their mother,
who has always known best how to wear them. Whether it be intricately
designed silks from Asia, adorned shoes from Europe or jeweled statement
pieces from the Middle East, their father has always had a refined eye
for detail. Since these early childhood memories the women began to
approach the world of fashion with idyllic adoration.
Through
the years, the women spent much of their time on 34th Street, where
their family-owned luxury leather goods showroom and retail boutique
was established. It was here that the women were exposed to an environment
that was business savvy and creatively innovative. They often visited
industry trade shows and toured museums with their parents, which only
further deepened their understanding of business and appreciation for
the arts.
Having
seen their elder brother's ambition lead to a successful career in banking,
the women went on to pursue their own passion for competitive business,
spending nearly a decade in their respective careers at premier global
Investment Banks. With an inherent desire to stay fashionable among
a sea of black suits, Saifra and Romaana showcased their individuality
by accessorizing with statement pieces. Like their father, the women
began to seek out treasures during their travels throughout Europe,
South America and Asia, creating their own covetable closets. It was
during their profound years in banking that the women gained valuable
experience before their entrepreneurial spirit would guide them back
to their familys sartorial roots.
Today,

Conventional leathers are tanned using a complex process during which pollutants from harsh chemicals used emit toxic fumes into the air and contaminate our water. Nyla Noor genuine leathers are specially tanned using all-natural colorants from sustainable materials. This innovative and proprietary method of tanning is 100% environmentally conscious and supports the preservation of our most precious natural resources. The method by which Nyla Noor leathers are tanned reduces the consumption of the earths water and energy resources, thereby limiting production waste.
LININGS
An authentic Nyla Noor handbag is lined with our signature SKAL Certified 100% Organic cotton, which is certified organic from seed to shelf. It is grown without toxic herbicides or pesticides and dyed and printed with environmentally sound certified dyes.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
An authentic
Nyla Noor accessory is made of vegetable tanned leather. Slight variations
in grain and color are characteristics of the leather. Special care
is advised for treated colors (flecked, embossed, metallic, etc.). A
Nyla Noor leather good will become more beautiful with age provided
the following key instructions are observed:

When not in
