With summer in full swing, many have abandoned their television sets in exchange for some extra sunlight and playtime outdoors. But starting this Sunday night, people will be flocking back to their flat screens in anticipation of the Season 4 premier of the hit drama Mad Men. Set in the 1960′s, the show follows the lives of the uber competitive, ego-driven and highly stylized men and women of Madison Avenue advertising.
Staying true to it’s decade in which this drama is set, Mad Men’s fashion captures all the glitz and provocative glamour which encompasses this period in American history. And with Fall 2010′s whisper to re-feminization of classic silhouettes echoed on the runways, consider the series a primer for the upcoming shopping season. Suits tailored to perfection, structured handbags, feminine details, demure cardigans, shape grazing pencil skirts, sheath dresses and Jackie O-style headscarf/sunglass combinations abound. Take a look at our interpretations on these period in fashion and let us know if you’ll be incorporating some of these styles in your Fall 2010 wardrobe.
Hugs and Handbags,
Nyla Noor
