Twilight mania has infiltrated our books, our movie theaters and even the runways. It was no surprise to see that many of this Falls fashion shows highlighted goth inspired attire which showed its OTT style by way of leather, studs and metal accents. While goth looks scream punk rock, they may not necessarily be office appropriate. So we took to the Fall runways to bring you some softer looks and trends (ruffles, romantic, fluidity, plaid, draping) that made their way through New York and Paris and are easier to pull off for the 9-5 set. I chose to focus on dresses for this post because they are one of my favorite go to pieces in my closet. Easy to dress up, dress down or warm up, dresses offer a whole outfit in seconds. Easy to wear and even easier to find one that flatters your shape, dresses always make it to the top of the list.

This Anna Sui printed silk ruffle dress is two trends in one, printed dress meets billowy ruffles.

Pair a dress that highlights artful draping with a shrunken blazer (fit is key here) for a polished yet professional look. Jason Wu embroidered chiffon drape dress.

Basic black and white gets a flattering look with this visually interesting Thakoon design.

A total trend right now, there is something about tartan that screams Fall- I'm in love with this Marc Jacobs dress.

The wrap dress- my can't go wrong pick. Who doesn't need a dress that's adjustable!? The ruffles and bow graphic adds a feminine detail. Green Swept Away Dress by Nanette Lepore.
