Earrings, necklaces, watches, rings, bracelets. Anybody who loves fashion knows that jewelry can make or break your outfit. An outfit that has been over accessorized can easily go from oh la la to overworked. So in order to avoid looking like I took a swim in my jewelry box, I like to start with wearing a number of pieces and then slowly edit down my look from there until I strike the right balance between sophistication and glamour. Mixing metals is practically a fashion must now a days and chunky jewels make bold statements.
Gold has been a standout favorite of mine lately as it brings a richness to any look, particularly one that is more on the casual side. I love watches and if given the opportunity, I would own more than anyone should ever really need. A timepiece, like any other piece of jewelry tells a story and says a little something special about your personality. Your piece de resistance can be anything from a cocktail ring to a statement necklace- just as long it makes you feel complete before you step out that door. For me, that piece is the below Michael Kors watch. Slightly oversized for a stronger look, this watch is an instant dress me up look without all the necessary work- and who doesn’t like being effortlessly chic? My watch somehow makes me feel polished, stylish and classic all at once.

This Michael Kors watch shines in gold
What’s your favorite piece of jewelry and how does it make you feel?

I have a Michael Kors two-tone watch and I love it. I tend to wear silver and gold so it works perfectly for me. Plus, I get tons of compliments. My favorite piece of jewelry is a right-hand diamond ring I purchased for myself, after my divorce. I called my BFF one morning and said, “Want to go shopping for a diamond ring today???” And the rest is history!

My watch was gifted to me for my 30th birthday and is now a constant reminder of my new life as a fashion designer (especially when compared to my much more tame watch that I used to wear to work as a banker)
