Meeting An Entrepreneur, Fashion Maven, Stylist To The Stars- Robert Verdi

Meeting Mr. Robert Verdi

Meeting Mr. Robert Verdi

Fashion’s Night Out brought many a celebrity, from Charlize Theron signing copies of  Vogue’s September Issue to Victoria Beckham at Bergdorf Goodman, excitement was certainly in the air on Fifth Avenue. And while all the celebrity sightings were fun, we were there for the fashion. So when we had the opportunity to meet Robert Verdi, we knew we had met the real celebrity- a stylist to the stars (et al). As the brains behind the entire wardrobe operation, I have the highest of respect for stylists. What they do is not easy, but it certainly is thrilling. Working off of (what I would imagine is) instinct and a lot of foresight, stylists are constantly predicting the future of fashion, making their clients look ahmazing and knowing when to say no (that is not a flattering look). From red carpet events and film premiers to errand running outfits, stylists can make someone look incredible just about anywhere they are. With few stylists making it to the ranks of a Robert Verdi or a Rachel Zoe (who are both, coincidentally, fellow Virgos), it was a huge honor to able to take a photograph with him, chat with and be in the presence of such grace and inspiration. And I must add, he was so incredibly kind and we even share the same birthday!

Mr. Verdi’s resume is extensive and admirable. Beginning in his teenage years, Mr. Verdi would travel to NYC from New Jersey in order to sell handmade jewelry in the city streets and in downtown boutiques. Later his jewels would be showcased at the coveted four B’s- Bendel’s, Bergdorf, Barney’s and Bloomies. Following a degree at the esteemed Fashion Institute of Technology, Mr. Verdi pursued fashion reporting. Quickly becoming a fashion and style expert, Mr. Verdi co-created and co-hosted Full Frontal Fashion and went on to co-host Surprise By Design and E!’s Fashion Police. He has also written columns for InsideTV and The Daily magazines. He has helped a long list of celebs including (but not limited to) Eva Longoria, Hugh Jackman, Jolie Fischer, Sandra Bernhardt and Bobby Flay redesign their homes and wardrobes. It is clear that Mr. Verdi’s proven track record (stylist, commentator, entrepreneur, writer, TV host, et al)  is studded with stars and success. We can’t wait to see what this fashionable jack-of-all-trades does next.
