Ok, so you know that we have talked about the shootie many times over. What we haven’t told you is my personal obsession with shooties- in particular the grey suede variety. This obsession has been going on for about a year now. I have dreamed, window shopped virtually and in real life for the perfect shootie. What I have always envisioned was something in between a dark and light grey, slouchy for a chic yet relaxed look and high enough to be a borderline “cab shoe.” You know, those shoes you love so much but can only walk about 10 blocks before you want to give up, take off the shoes and risk whatever yuckiness that the sidewalk has to offer in order to find sweet relief. But you keep them on and suffer because you know how good they look– the cab shoe.
So I searched high and low, knowing that when the right shootie came along, that I would just “know.” Well that day finally came. Walking into Nordstrom’s I said a little prayer to myself that I would finally findĀ the shootie made for me. And then, there they were. Exactly what I had dreamed of- grey, suede, slouchy. And what was even better was that the shoe had a platform increasing the height but not necessarily the pain. Shoe perfection.

Shootie Love

Hello Lover

When it comes to heels, the higher, the better!
What makes these shoes so great are the fact that they have the non slip tread. I know, it’s function over fashion but when you have to walk around Manhattan sidewalks in the real world, anything that can reduce the slip factor and up the speed walking is purchase worthy in my books. I recently debuted my shooties in LA with this DVF dress (see below) and a black blazer with the sleeves rolled up. Green nails (which are all the rage for the Fall ladies!) topped off this look to make it less office and more Rihanna inspired.

DVF never fails
Hugs and Handbags,
Nyla Noor
