Movie Review: The Time Travelers Wife

The Time Traveler's WifeJust got back a little while ago from watching The Time Travelers Wife. It was beautiful. I’m a huge fan of Rachel McAdams (don’t even let me think about The Notebook or I’ll shed a tear!) and Eric Bana is pretty easy on the eyes. In the film Henry, played by Eric Bana, has a genetic anomaly which causes him to travel through time. Imagine how hard that can be for the woman who is in love with him. One moment he is at their wedding, the next moment, poof, just a pile of clothes and he’s off in an alternate universe. And what’s worse is she doesn’t know when he will be back. All she knows is that she loves him. She has always loved him. I went in expected that I would be a one woman sob festival. I went prepared, a stack of tissues one inch thick in tow and hoping that my seatmate wouldn’t judge me too much for being said one woman sob festival. While I didn’t cry as much as I thought I would, I did feel bad for the lady in front of us, who went to town with the tears. I should add though, that the movie was so incredibly poignant, a beautiful story of love and the belief in never giving up on that one kindred spirit. If you’re in the mood to catch a movie that is touching, funny at times and thoughtful, then definitely make sure to check out The Time Travelers Wife.
