When we tell people that we have started a new luxury handbag company, without a doubt, people always ask- so, what is the name of your company? The question that always proceeds is: How did you come up with Nyla Noor? Well, since this blog is an introduction to Nyla Noor, we think this is the most suitable forum for an explanation. Many of our friends suggested we use our own names; after all they are quite unique. But after mulling over the perfect name, we decided that we didn’t want to name the company after ourselves. While we are the heart and soul of the company, we wanted the name to represent the hearts, souls and dreams of all of you – our loyal customers, our shopping besties. Just like you, we have dreams. Since the sheer idea of starting our own handbag company was such a big dream that we are finally making into a reality, we decided we wanted the name to represent another dream of ours. The names Nyla and Noor are names that we have held secretly in our hearts since we were little girls. The names we look forward to giving our future daughters. Our future namesakes. So, what exactly do the names Nyla and Noor mean, you ask? Well, Nyla means ‘winner’, and Noor means ‘light’. Just like our dream of starting our own luxury handbag company is coming to fruition, we thought it would be fitting to name our dream coming true after another one of our dreams. So the moral of the story is go out and make your dreams come true.
